At The Big Meow every unit is a large self-contained area which is equipped with fresh clean bedding in both a basket and a cosy house, scratching post, litter tray, food and water.
During the day we give each cat their own personal time in the outdoor areas, if they want it. If the cats are outdoors they go out one family at a time. As with our rooms, our policy is that our guests do not have communal time. We find that most cats prefer their own company best, supplemented by some love from a human throughout the day.
Our rooms are $24/cat per night. For two cats sharing one room $21/cat per night, i.e. $42.
Please note: additional charges may apply if your cat needs extra care during their stay, such as vet visits or flea treatments.
Payment
We don’t require a deposit to book. We’ll email you an invoice when you collect your cat, and payment is due within 48 hours by bank transfer.
For Christmas and New Year bookings, no cancellations can be made from 1 December, and you may be charged for the full booking. See our Terms & Conditions for details.
Rooms to suit every cat
Every cat is different, so our rooms are set up to suit a range of needs:
- Senior cats – rooms set up for older cats who aren’t as agile as they used to be.
- Two cats from the same home – larger rooms so your pair can stay together comfortably.
- Cats who like their privacy – quieter rooms for cats who prefer their own space.
- Timid cats – a calm, gentle setup to help nervous cats settle in.
When you book, just let us know if your cat is older, shy or sharing with a housemate, and we’ll make sure they’re in the room that suits them best.
