At The Big Meow we have 18 individual rooms. Your cat will have neighbours, but they quickly learn they’re in a safe, quiet place with few interruptions.
We’re tucked away in a peaceful spot in Greerton. They get space and seclusion, right here in town.
Lots of love and attention
Your cat doesn’t just need looking after – they need love. If they want company, they get regular pats, cuddles and head bumps. If they’d rather chill, we leave them be.
Every cat gets the chance to spend time in the outdoor area, one family at a time, and get some fresh air and sunshine if they would like it. There’s plenty of room to play, explore, or just laze the day away.
Shy cats welcome
Some cats take a new place in their stride. Others find even the car trip frightening. For our nervous guests, we spend quiet time each day talking to them gently – never staring them down – until they feel safe enough to explore.
Seeing them come out of their shell and show their real personality is one of the best parts of what we do.
Meet your hosts, Erin and Ross
We grew up on a rural property in Tauranga and have spent our whole lives with animals – cats, dogs, goats, cows, sheep, pigs, guinea pigs and rabbits, to name a few. There’s always been a cat or two.
Every animal has its own personality, and we do our utmost to make yours feel relaxed and at home. After all, life is short and everybody deserves to enjoy it – that includes you, us and your wonderful cat.
